OSHA Inspections

Regulatory penalty amounts have skyrocketed in recent years. Fines in excess of $100,00 are routinely issued.  Inspection results are posted online where current customers, potential customers, and job candidates can review. Keeping abreast of current OSHA regulations, emphasis programs, and rule interpretations can be overwhelming.  Our consultants know what the local inspectors target, and can quickly get your organization up to speed.

What Causes an OSHA Inspection

  1. Imminent Danger Situations
  2. Severe Injuries and Illnesses
  3. Worker Complaints
  4. Referrals
  5. Targeted Inspections
  6. Follow-Up Inspections

Investing in safety solutions reduces accidents and injuries, and it improves team moral and employee trust which reduces worker complaints and referrals.
OSHA area directors may grant additional penalty reduction for operating in good faith and utilizing a third-party consultant like Sturgeon Consulting. Sturgeon Consulting routinely helps clients pass inspections without any fines being issued. OSHA Inspection Protocol

Sturgeon Consulting provides all clients with a detailed protocol for OSHA inspections. The following information provides a summarized version of these protocols.
  • Upon arrival, review the official photo ID credentials provided by the inspector.
  • Escort the inspector to a private office or conference room for an opening conference to explain the purpose of the visit.
  • Inform the OSHA inspector that you work with Sturgeon Consulting and would like us to be present for the inspection.
  • Contact Sturgeon Consulting. While waiting for a Sturgeon Consulting representative to arrive, provide the inspector with the appropriate materials developed for your organization by Sturgeon Consulting.
  • Do not volunteer any additional information.
We recommend waiting to begin any physical facility inspection until a Sturgeon Consulting representative has arrived. Our consultants will ensure your best interests are protected. Minimize the cost of OSHA fines for your organization by partnering with Sturgeon Consulting.
